【内容提要】长期以来，人们普遍将法国学派视为“影响研究”学派，将“传播研究”与“影响研究”等同起来。现在看来，“法国学派”的方法是“传播研究”而不是“影响研究”，我们有必要将“传播研究”从“影响研究”中剥离出来，将这两种不同形态的比较文学研究加以明确的界定和区分。这有助于我们深入认识“传播研究”的独特的方法论特征、它的意义和价值，使“传播研究”与“影响研究”互有分工而又相互补充，使我们对比较文学的研究范围和方法的划分更为科学化，在研究实践上也更具可操作性。

【英文摘要】Over the long past,the French School has been commonly viewedas belonging to the school of the "Influence Research" whichis often equated with the "Dissemination Research."In the modernview,however,the method applied by the French School is "Dissemination Research" rather than "Influence Research."It isnecessary for us to strip the former from the latter,and specifyand differentiate the two different patterns of research in comparative literature.This will contribute to our further understanding of the unique methodological characteristics,significance and value of "Dissemination Research" and make thetwo different researches play their own functions and complementeach other.It will also make our classification of the ranges and methods of research in comparative literature more scientific and its application in real practice more operative.

一 “法国学派”的方法是“传播研究”而不是“影响研究”
在对传播研究方法进行阐述之前，有必要首先澄清与传播研究方法有关的“法国学派”及“影响研究”问题。
长期以来，国内外比较文学界将“法国学派”与“影响研究”看成是一回事，认为“法国学派”是“影响研究”，“影响研究”是“法国学派”，又在这个看法的基础上进一步把文学传播与文学影响等同起来，把“传播研究”与“影响研究”等同起来。然而，如果我们将法国学派代表人物的观点和主张，及法国学派的研究特色做一必要的检讨和辨析，就不难看出，“法国学派”实际上并不赞成“影响研究”。
